Nothing grows a relationship with a significant other like having date nights. Whether you have only been dating for a few months or you have been dating for many years, keeping date nights fresh can be a challenge. Umm, what do you want to do? This is an awesome craze that my wife and I found out about while we were dating and have repeated numerous time during our dating and married life with and without kids. If you only have one date night a fortnight then this will take a year to complete! The aim is to take turns so it will always be a surprise for one person. This way when you go through a second time, you have different letters to work with. For my wife and I, we decided that we would do both a food and an activity that begin with the letter in question.

My husband and I have started a thing called Alphabet dating. We each plan a date beginning with a letter in the Alphabet. I started on A and he planned B.

What is Alphabet Dating? A Z of dates. Dates beginning with A Dates beginning with B Dates beginning with C Dates beginning with D Dates.

Alphabet Dating – A is for Alice and the Aquarium

Alphabet dating is, quite simply, the idea where you go through each letter of the alphabet and plan a date around that letter. So now once a month, we will plan a fun date based on whatever letter of the alphabet is next in the sequence. I adored the Alice in Wonderland pop-up book and would have loved to look through that but sadly all of the items on display were kept safely in glass display cases.

For our first date of round two, Craig took me to the Antarctic Centre, based out at Christchurch Airport. The date involved a simulated storm, during which you get to experience a temperature of degrees Celsius, as well as a Haglund ride, and a 4D movie. Craig and I went to New Brighton Beach for a picnic for this date. It was a really beautiful and hot day, so it was perfect to sit there and an umbrella, looking at the beautiful scenery. We had a really great D date — what better thing to do on the 5th anniversary of the Christchurch earthquake, than go to a comedy and laugh the night away? We had dinner at Dux Dine beforehand, which is a really lovely seafood and vegetarian specialist restaurant. I loved it but I think my step-dad, who was up from Invercargill, was a little miffed that there was no beef steak option. Well, it has been almost exactly eight months since E date. Perfect — F for Freddy Krueger! It was our first time to this cinema, and its super cute — that old school look with the velvet curtains and red carpet.

This is an idea I just heard about that I have to share with you! The idea is to start at the beginning of the alphabet and take turns planning a date around that letter. There are obviously 26 letters in the alphabet, so this is a good half a year or more of creative date nights. I plan on posting the ideas we come up with as we go!

As such, the date nights have gone on the back burner because we have been A Busy with new ventures, B Finding new jobs and C skint AF because of Hey my lovely readers, I hope you all had a great weekend!
